Chevrolet's all-new 2018 Traverse was introduced to the public today. The newly designed SUV has technologies that are aimed to please passengers of all ages and lifestyles.
The president of GM North America describes the Traverse as a midsize SUV designed to help keep you safe, comfortable and connected.
The Traverse's third-row legroom is expected to be best-in-class and has an ample amount of cargo space for extra luggage. The hands free liftgate to open the trunk is sure to be of service to many as a lamp feature illuminating the ground will show drivers where to place their foot to activate the feature.
When it comes to connection, the Traverse supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as an 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot available from OnStar. Passengers will also have the luxury of USB charging ports being stationed in all three seating rows.
When it comes to safety the Traverse has you covered with: Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking and Low and High-Speed Forward Automatic Braking.
Under the hood lies a new 3.6-Litre V-6 and nine-speed automatic transmission. It is expected to have about 10% more horsepower than the current model. Upgrading to the higher RS trim package will give you a 2.0-Litre turbocharged engine which will have more torque than the V-6 but is also paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The 2018 Traverse will go on sale this fall adding to Chevrolet's broad lineup of SUV's and Crossovers.
